Noah Laba scored twice and
Logan Will added a goal and an assist to lead Colorado College to a 6-2 victory over Union College and complete the season-opening sweep of the Garnet Chargers at Ed Robson Arena.

Ryan Beck added a pair of assists and
Kaidan Mbereko had 28 saves as the Tigers are 2-0 for the second straight season and their 13 goals are the most in one series since scoring the same amount at Alaska Anchorage to open the 2018-19 campaign.

Saturday night,
Evan Werner put the Tigers on the board just 1:41 into the contest.
Max Burkholder sent a pass from the Tigers end off the far board that found the stick of a streaking Werner, who scored his first career goal from the right circle past Union goalie Kyle Chauvette.

Caden Villegas evened the score at the 7:20 mark of the opening frame. Liam Robertson got a shot off that was saved by Mbereko, but Robertson sent the rebound to the front of the net and Villegas poked it into the net from point blank range.

For the second consecutive night, the Tigers put the game away in the second period, scoring three goals in the frame on Saturday. Laba, who was forced to sit out Friday's game due to being disqualified in the exhibition game last weekend, scored a pair of goals to put CC ahead 3-1.

At the 5:33 mark, he completed a 3-on-1 and buried a pass from
Ryan Beck past Chauvette, then made it 3-1 at the 8:41 with a great individual effort. On the power play, Laba's shot from the top of the right circle was blocked by Nick Young, but the rebound went right back to Laba, who beat Chauvette while falling to the ice.

Gleb Veremyev extended the lead at the 16:44 mark with his first of the campaign. Team captain
Logan Will sent a pass from behind the net to Veremyev, who easily best Chauvette from the slot.

The Tigers kept the pressure on in the third period and Will made it 5-1 3:25 into the frame with his first of the season.
Zaccharya Wisdom collected a Union turnover in the offensive zone and found Will, who was all alone and beat Chauvette.

Carter Korpi scored an unassisted goal midway through the third, then
Ray Christy put the finishing touches on the contest with his first of the season, taking a pass from
Riley Stuart and scoring from the slot.

Union outshot the Tigers, 30-23. Laba led all players with five shots, followed by Werner with four.

Colorado College was 1-for-3 on the power play and held Union scoreless in six man-advantage opportunities.

The Tigers return to action next weekend, Oct, 20-21, with a series against Long Island University at Robson Arena.
