The Colorado College men's tennis team dropped its SCAC semifinal matchup with No. 8-ranked Trinity University, 5-0, on Saturday in Georgetown, Texas.
 
Trinity, seeded No. 2 at the tournament, swept the three doubles matches to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Alessio Azzalini and Rafa Candelas Ruiz defeated Aiden Little and Lucas Pastor, 8-1, at the No. 2 position, then Robert Chang and Dalton Locke downed Jack Delafield and Nick Bishop, 8-4, at No. 3. Hao Nguyen and Eric Liao completed the sweep with an 8-4 victory over Andrew Kaelin and Nate Beerman at the top spot.
             
The Texas Tigers rolled in singles action, winning two matches in straight sets to close out the team match, including a 6-2, 6-2 win by Liao over Beerman at the No. 3 position. Candelas Ruiz clinched the match by downing Delafield, 6-1, 6-4, at the No. 5 position. The other matches were pulled at that time. CC's Andrew Kaelin took the first set from Connor Whittingham, 7-6, at the No. 4 spot.
 
Colorado College, the No. 3 seed, will play the University of St. Thomas in the third-place match on Sunday, April 30, beginning at 8 a.m. (MT).
