For the third time in the last four years, the Colorado College men's and women's tennis teams were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as All-Academic Teams for the 2022-23 season.
Â
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any member program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2022 and spring 2023).
Â
The CC women's team had a 3.73 grade-point average for the past academic year, while the men's squad put together a 3.63 GPA. CC was one of only 116 Division III schools to have both teams earn the distinction, joining Southwestern University and Trinity University from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Â
"I continue to be impressed by the academic achievements of both the men's and women's tennis programs," head coach
Anthony Weber said. "We take that aspect of the experience seriously and are proud of the group."
Â
In addition, 11 women and 10 men from Colorado College were named ITA Scholar-Athletes for posting at least a 3.5 grade-point average during the '22-23 academic year. The 21 players were the most from any SCAC school.
