The Colorado College men's soccer team heads to Texas for a pair of conference road games, starting with Austin College on Friday, Oct. 17th at 7 pm MT.
CC (7-0-5) looks to continue its undefeated start to the season and hold on to first place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Last Time Out
The Tigers tied 1-1 with Concordia (TX) on Sunday, after defeating Texas Lutheran 2-0 on Oct. 10th.
Against the Bulldogs, senior captain
Rex Karjian and sophomore
Teddy Opler led the offensive charge with goals while junior goalkeeper
Alex Wolter pitched another shutout. Karjian collected a season-high five shots, three on goal and his goal in the 33rd minute.
Two days later, against the Tornadoes, sophomore
Will Jones scored in the 10th minute off a corner kick that junior
Jack Hilliard set up. Hilliard sent it long to
Dylan Stapley, who headed it to Jones, awaiting his own header that went into the back of the net. It was Jones' first career goal and his fourth point of the season.
CTX tied the game in the 90th minute, as CC had to settle for the tie.
Record Start
CC is unbeaten through 12 games to start a season for the first time in program history. Its the Tigers' longest streak without losing a match since the 2022 season, where they went 14 straight games without suffering a loss.
They are first in the SCAC with a conference record of 4-0-2 and are riding a 35-game unbeaten streak in SCAC regular-season contests.
Scouting The 'Roos
Austin College is sixth in the conference standings with a 3-2-1 record against SCAC opponents. The 'Roos are 4-5-2 overall but are coming off a critical win over St. Thomas on Oct. 10th; however, they suffered a 4-1 loss to Centenary two days later.
Sophomore forward Luis Garza-Rios leads the team with four goals and two assists, followed by Richard Perez with three goals and an assist.
CC is 25-0-2 in its history against Austin College, including 11 straight wins dating back to 2017.
