No. 10 UConn scored five unanswered goals and earned a split in the weekend series with a 5-1 victory over Colorado College Saturday night at Ed Robson Arena.

Three Huskies had a goal and an assist and UConn capitalized on two 5-on-3 power plays and also scored on a delayed penalty. Â

The Tigers took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period when
Bret Link scored on a breakaway at the 10:31 mark.
Ryan Koering sprung Link, who flew in from the right side and placed a backhander past UConn goalie Tyler Muszelik, who finished with 26 saves.

The Huskies evened things up late in the frame when Ryan Tattle scored during a delayed penalty call with 1:15 remaining in the period.

UConn pulled away with three goals in the second period. Tom Messineo gave the Huskies a 2-1 lead just 1:05 into the period, then Alexandre Blais scored a 5-on-3 goal midway through the frame to make it 3-1.

Joey Muldowney put UConn up by three at the 11:57 mark and the Huskies killed off a 5-on-3 for CC late in the frame to hold the lead. In fact, Mbereko had to make a save on a breakaway by Kai Janviriya in the final seconds after Janiviriya exited the penalty box.

 Kaden Shahan added another 5-on-3 power-play goal 4:04 into the third period for the final margin.

UConn was 2-for-6 on the power play and killed off all five of CC's man advantage opportunities.

Kaidan Mbereko had 27 saves for CC in his 100
th career game.
