Luke Woodworth scored two goals Saturday to lead Omaha past No. 15 Colorado College, 5-4, at Ed Robson Arena.

Sean Tschigerl and Maxie Pellerin each collected a goal and an assist and Dawson Cowan had 36 saves as the Mavericks improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the NCHC.

Owen Beckner and
Klavs Veinbergs each scored and added an assist and
Tomas Mrsic scored his first career goal for the Tigers, who fell to 5-3 and 0-2 in league play.

Following a scoreless first period, Mrsic opened the scoring with his first career tally midway through the second period. Mrsic took a pass from
Fisher Scott and cleanly beat Cowan with a wrister from the right circle.

Woodworth scored the first of his two goals to even the score at 1-1 at the 17:12 mark of the second period, then Pellerin put the Mavericks ahead 2-1 with a goal at the 18:53 ark of the middle frame.

The teams combined for six goals in the third period, starting with Beckner's goal just 1:13 into the frame when he took a
Ryan Alexander centering pass from behind the net and scored from the slot to make it 2-2.

Woodworth then notched his second of the contest at the 8:24 mark of the third period, but
Gavin Lindberg evened things up once again with his second of the season at the 15:11 mark.

Omaha regained the lead just 35 seconds later when Tschigerl converted a 2-on-1 after taking a pass from Pellerin, then Jacob Guevin scored the game-winner with an empty net goal from deep in his own zone with 1:55 remaining.

With Mbereko (25 saves) still on the bench, Veinbergs scored his team-high sixth goal of the season just 28 seconds later, but the Tigers could not get another to tie the game.

Neither team converted on the power play Saturday night, with Omaha going 0-for-3 and CC 0-for-2.

The Tigers, who outshot Omaha, 40-30, and put 91 shots on goal during the weekend, return to action next weekend, Nov. 7-8, against Arizona State in Tempe.
