The Colorado College men's basketball team heads east for its second consecutive road trip for a pair of matchups against Pfeiffer University on Friday at 1 pm MT and Mary Baldwin Wallace on Sunday at 12 pm MT.
Hampden-Sydney College is hosting the Charlie Cobb Classic in Hampden-Sydney, VA. The two Tiger teams, however, will not play each other.
Last Time Out
CC went 1-1 in its first road trip of the year. The Tigers suffered an 85-70 loss to No. 12 Calvin on Nov. 15 but bounced back with an 83-67 victory over Kalamazoo College the next day.
Against the Hornets, freshman forward Ryan Krantz led all players with a career-high 14 points and shot 71.4 percent from the floor (5-7) and 66.7 percent from three-point range (4-6).
Senior
Asher Nofziger followed with 13 points, five rebounds, three assists, one block and a steal.
Russell MacFarlane recorded his first career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
Junior
Gavin Carter added 12 points, four rebounds, a season-high seven assists and three steals.
Orion Samikoglu rounded out the scoring efforts with 10 points and finished with three boards, one assist and a steal.
Leading The Way
Junior
Ty Hendler is leading the team with 22.0 points per game, but has only played in the season opener against Western Colorado. Nofziger is second with 15.7 ppg and grabs 5.7 boards per game.
MacFarlane is nearly averaging a double-double with his 8.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Samikoglu leads the team with six three-pointers made.
Scouting The Opposition
Pfeiffer comes into the weekend with a 3-1 record and riding a three-game winning streak after losing the season opener against No. 21 Maryville. The Falcons have defeated Centenary, Johnson & Wales and Lynchburg.
They downed Lynchburg on Thursday, Nov. 13 by a final score of 95-89 where senior forward Doug Smith led the team with 23 points, six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals.
