Mats Lindgren Added to Hockey Roster

Colorado College hockey coach Kris Mayotte has announced the addition of defenseman Mats Lindgren to the 2025-26 roster, effective immediately.

Lindgren, from North Vancouver, B.C., most recently played during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 21 points (7g,14a) in 56 games for the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL and appearing in seven games for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

Prior to that, he played five seasons in the WHL between the Kamloops Blazers and Red Deer Rebels, collecting 129 points (24g,105a) in 220 games. Lindgren, a fourth-round pick (#106 overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2022 NHL Draft, helped the Blazers to the WHL conference finals in 2021-22 and served as an assistant captain for Red Deer in '24-25.

"We are excited to add Mats to our program," Mayotte said. "We are adding a very good player and teammate. He is a strong skater with a history of offensive production. I know Mats is eager to get started and we are ready to get him up to speed as quickly as possible."

Lindgren's father, Mats, played seven seasons in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders and Vancouver Canucks, notching 128 points (54g,74a) in 387 career games. The 15th pick overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1993 NHL Draft was a member of Team Sweden at the 1998 Olympic Games.

The Tigers return to action at No. 20 Augustana University, Jan. 2-3, in Sioux Falls, S.D.
