Eric Pohlkamp had a goal and three assists to lead No. 7-ranked Denver past No. 20 Colorado College, 4-1, Friday night at Magness Arena.

With the victory, Denver retained the Gold Pan and improved to 25-9-1 overall and 13-8-1 in the NCHC. The Tigers fell to 17-15-1 overall and 11-11-1 in league play and has solidified the No. 6 seed in next week's NCHC first-round series. CC's opponent will be determined on Saturday, the final day of the regular season.

The Pioneers struck first with a power-play goal just 2:57 into the contest. Samu Salminen finished a give-and-go play with Pohlkamp to give the home team an early lead on its first shot on goal of the game.

After the goal, Colorado College goaltender
Kaidan Mbereko was outstanding the rest of the first period, marking 12 saves, including one on a breakaway by James Reeder and another from Sam Harris within 20 seconds late in the frame.

Mbereko made another 12 saves in the second period. Denver goalie Matt Davis, who made four saves in the first 20 minutes, also had 12 in the middle stanza as neither team found the back of the net.

Bret Link evened the score at 1-1 with a power-play goal at the 4:30 mark of the third period. Link deflected a shot from
Philippe Blais-Savoie past Davis for his sixth tally of the season.

The Pioneers regained the lead for good when Harris fired a wrist shot from the left circle that went over Mbereko's right shoulder for a 2-1 lead at 10:41 of the final frame, then Reeder, who assisted on Harris' goal, tipped in a shot from Eric Pohlkamp with 4:50 remaining in the third.

Pohlkamp closed the scoring with an empty-net goal with 59.6 seconds remaining.

Mbereko finished with 28 saves, while Davis had 22. The Tigers held Denver to 1-for-5 on the power play and capitalized on one of their three man-advantage opportunities.
