Senior Aidan Little won the No. 2 singles match on Saturday against Division II Colorado Mesa, but the Colorado College men's tennis team fell to the Mavericks, 6-1, Saturday at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs.
CMU jumped out to a 1-0 lead with wins at the Nos. 1 and 3 doubles matches.
Nate Beerman and
Lenny Lehmitz won the No. 2 match, 6-2, over Henry Scheck and William Leschig.
Little and Leschig played an incredible match at the No. 2 singles spot, with Little pulling out a 7-5, 6-7(6), 1-0(7) victory.
Two other singles matches went the distance, with Scheck beating Lucas Pator, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0(6), at the No. 1 position, and Emil Hultman downing Lehmitz, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0(8), at the No. 5 spot.
The Mavericks won the other three singles match in straight sets.
The Tigers, ranked No. 61 in Division III, return to action with their first SCAC match of the season on Friday, April 18, against Concordia (Texas), in Austin, beginning at 10 a.m. (CT).
