The Colorado College Tigers face off against the University of Texas, San Antonio for only the second time ever, and the first time since 2013.
CC (2-1-1) had Thursday off as UTSA is rounding out its Colorado road trip after battling Colorado State on Thursday night.
Out Front
Junior midfielder
Kendall Memoly is off to a stellar start this season. She leads the Tigers with four goals off of only 10 shots. Twice this year, she has led the Tigers to wins with multi-goal games, the first two of her career. She scored twice against Canisius and NM State, both on the road. Both performances allowed her to be nominated for Mountain West Player of the Week twice.
Defensively Stout
For the first time since 2013, CC has allowed only four goals through the first four games. Junior goalkeeper
Regan Wallace and the rest of the Tigers' defense are 34th in the nation and third in the Mountain West in goals against average (.500). Wallace is 29th in the country and second in the conference in save percentage (.909). Freshmen defenders
Lily Smith and
Taylor Mentink have made an instant impact of the defensive side of the ball alongside senior
Emily Hitt.
Around The Horn
It's the first time since 2020 that CC has won two of its first three road games. The Tigers didn't win a true road game last season, but have already knocked out two formidable opponents through the first month.
Transfer Talk
Sophomore forward
Nadia Cassamajor has started and contributed in every game she has played in since coming to Colorado Springs. After transferring from Holy Cross, she has logged two assists, which leads the team, and is third in shots (five). She has played 268 minutes and has a shot on goal percentage of .400.
At Stewart
In 2024, CC was one of the best teams in the conference at home. The Tigers went 7-1-3 and outscored their opponents 17-6. They have only played once at home this year, resulting in a 0-0 draw against Denver. The win percentage at Stewart in 2024 was the best mark for CC since the 2017 season. They were second in the conference in home wins and racked up six shutouts.
Scouting The Roadrunners
UTSA (2-2-1) is coming off a hard-fought battle against the Rams of Colorado State on Thursday night. CSU won the game 1-0 to hand UTSA its second loss of the season. The Roadrunners won back-to-back games against St. Mary's (TX) and Lamar by a combined score of 4-0.
Three players have scored goals this year: Aaliyaiah Durden, Brooklyn Bailey and Zoë May all lead the team with two points.
Goalkeeper Jasmine Kessler has 21 saves and logged two shutouts with a 0.913 save percentage.
