The Colorado College men's team wraps up non-conference play on Saturday, Sept. 13, as it hosts Carroll University at Stewart Field at 1 p.m.
CC (2-0-3) is unbeaten through five games for the second consecutive year and looks to head into conference play with a solid win against the Pioneers.
Last Time Out
The Tigers hosted their 75th Anniversary weekend last week, which consisted of three games against Whitman, Cal Lutheran and Mary Hardin-Baylor. They came away with two ties and a win against Cal Lutheran.
CC downed Cal Lutheran 2-0 on Friday, tied Whitman 2-2, and then ended the weekend with a 0-0 draw with UMHB.
Freshman
Ewen Robertson led the team with two goals, 11 shots and seven shots on goal over the three games. Robertson was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week in Week 1.
POTW
Junior goalkeeper
Alex Wolter was named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 8.
Wolter helped lead the Tigers to an unbeaten weekend that featured two shutouts. Wolter shut out both Cal Lutheran and Mary Hardin-Baylor and finished with six saves. He has three shutouts already this year, which leads the SCAC, and his 11 total saves are currently tied for third in the league.
Scouting The Opposition
Carroll comes into the weekend with a 3-2 record, their most recent outing being a 3-1 victory over Marian University.
The Pioneers also hold victories over the College of St. Scholastica and Benedictine. Their freshman star, Iskander Sharipov, leads the team with five goals. The Wisconsin native recorded a hat trick against Benedictine in his collegiate debut.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
