Kaidan Mbereko and
Max Burkholder have been named team captains of the Colorado College hockey team for the 2025-26 season, while
Drew Montgomery and
Owen Beckner will serve as assistant captains, according to head coach
Kris Mayotte.

Mbereko, a senior goaltender from Aspen, Colo., has 45 career wins at CC, placing him seventh on the school's all-time list. The 2024 First-Team All-American was 15-15-1 last season after an outstanding 21-13-3 season in '23-24. He is No. 2 on Colorado College's career list with a .915 save percentage and fourth with a 2.45 goals-against average.

Burkholder, meanwhile, was a second-team all-NCHC pick last season after tying for the team lead with 20 assists and tied for second with 26 points. A junior defenseman from Chaska, Minn., Burkholder finished second on the team with three power-play goals and blocked 40 shots last season.

Montgomery, a junior forward from Grand Forks, N.D., tied for the team lead with 10 goals in '24-25 and finished with a career-high 18 points in 34 contests. He also posted a career-best five-game point streak last season

Beckner led the team in scoring last season with 27 points, the most by a CC freshman since Scott Swanson had 48 in 1996-97. The sophomore forward from Victoria, B.C., tied Burkholder for the team lead with 20 assists and collected a career-high four helpers in the Tigers' 7-2 victory over Minnesota Duluth on Jan. 17.
Colorado College opens the 2025-26 season with a weekend series against UConn, Oct. 3-4, at Ed Robson Arena.
