The Colorado College men's basketball team hits the road to take on Hendrix College on Friday, Jan. 16, at 5:00 p.m. MT, and the University of the Ozarks on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. MT.
CC is going for its third consecutive win and its third win in conference play.
Last Time Out
The Tigers swept a pair of SCAC opponents at Reid Arena last weekend. On Friday against Austin College, CC downed the 'Roos 87-69.
CC shot 45.7 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from three-point range (9-of-22), while holding the Kangaroos to 38.3 percent shooting and just 20.0 percent from beyond the arc.
Four Tigers reached double figures, led by senior
Asher Nofziger with 18 points and nine rebounds. Junior
Ty Hendler matched Nofziger's 18 points, senior
Orion Samikoglu finished with 16 and freshman
Ryan Kranz chipped in 14.
On Sunday against Dallas, the Tigers dominated the Crusaders 87-55.
Christian Drummond led all scorers with 15 points while adding four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.
Kyle Kihlberg anchored the paint with a career-high 14 rebounds, two blocks and nine points, and
Asher Nofziger recorded a double-double with 12 points, 11 boards and three blocks.
Tiger Tails
Nofziger leads the Tigers with 15.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. The Denver native is second in the conference with 115 rebounds.
Kranz leads the team with a 44.6 three-point percentage. The Boston native has been on a tear in his first year, knocking down 29 three-pointers, including 3.5 per game in the last two weeks.
Gavin Carter is CC's and the SCAC's assist leader with 57 this year.
Scouting The Opposition
Hendrix is 1-12 entering the weekend with recent losses to Concordia (TX) and Texas Lutheran. The lone win of the year for the Warriors came on Jan. 2 against the University of the Ozarks. Junior Kyle Roach leads the team with 10.7 ppg.
Ozarks is 2-11 this year, with its most recent win coming in the revenge game on Jan. 3 against Hendrix. Freshman Eyal Shamri leads the team with 17.5 ppg.
