Trevor Wong scored twice to lead Omaha to a 3-1 victory over Colorado College Friday night at Baxter Arena in Omaha, Neb.

Simon Latkoczy had 25 saves for Omaha (9-16-0, 5-10-0 NCHC), while
Philippe Blais-Savoie scored and
Kaidan Mbereko collected 20 saves for CC (9-11-3, 3-7-3 NCHC).

It appeared the Tigers scored first at the 7:41 mark of the first period when
Ryan Alexander put the puck in the net, but the play was ruled offside following an Omaha challenge and official review.

Another review occurred with 44.5 seconds remaining in the opening frame after an Omaha player put the puck in the net after Mbereko had covered it and the whistle blew. The call of no goal on the ice was confirmed with the review.

Omaha struck first with a power-play goal at the 12:16 mark of the second period. Aidan de la Gorgendiere took a shot from the point that deflected off a CC player's stick in front of the net and found its way past Mbereko.

The Mavericks took a 2-0 lead at the 4:46 mark of the third period when Wong deflected a shot from the left boards by Griffin Luedtke that snuck past Mbereko.

Blais-Savoie put the Tigers on the board with 4:32 remaining in regulation when he took a pass from Wilson
Björck and fired a wrist shot from the left point that eluded Latkoczy.
Klavs Veinbergs also collected an assist on the play.

Mbereko exited the ice in favor of an extra skater with 2:10 left in the third period and Wong scored into the open net with 40.1 seconds remaining.

The Tigers outshot Omaha, 26-23, but were 0-for-3 on the power play. Omaha was 1-for-4 with a man advantage.

The teams will wrap up their weekend and season series at Baxter Arena on Saturday, Jan. 24, beginning at 7 p.m. (CT).
