Men's Soccer Dominates SCAC Opener

Colorado College defeated Hendrix 4-0 on Friday. Colorado College scored once in the first half and three times after halftime while holding Hendrix to four shots. The team scored four goals in the game, exceeding its season average of 2.5.
 
First Half
- Colorado College earned two corner kicks in the opening six minutes before the half tightened with a Hendrix yellow card and four fouls between 7:21 and 17:00.
- Whit Hynes had a shot saved at 19:46, and Hendrix put an attempt on goal at 20:39 before Teddy Opler scored off a Jack Purvis assist at 22:59 to give Colorado College a 1-0 lead. It was Purvis' first assist of the season.
- Colorado College added corner kicks at 24:03 and 31:08, while the closing stretch included more fouls, a Hendrix yellow card and a Hendrix corner at 42:36.
- Colorado College led 1-0 at halftime.
 
Second Half
- Colorado College opened the half with corner kicks at 48:10 and 50:32, followed by shots from Purvis and Lenny Lehmitz that were kept out.
- Opler scored at 62:43 to make it 2-0, and Arlo Sollinger added another goal at 66:14 to push Colorado College ahead 3-0.
- Colorado College kept the attack going with multiple chances and corners, and Grayson Capodanno scored at 69:32 to make it 4-0. Spencer Besselaar later saved Hendrix's shot at 85:17 as Colorado College closed out the 4-0 win.
 
Opler scored twice on two shots, put both attempts on goal and was credited with the game-winning goal. Opler also reached a career milestone of 20 goals. Besselaar played all 90 minutes in goal, made one save and recorded the shutout. Sollinger added a goal and put both of his shots on frame. Capodanno scored on his lone shot.
 
Colorado College recorded nine shots on goal, surpassing its season average of 5.88. The team is 6-2-1 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play. Hendrix is 1-5-1 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play.
