Coach Keri Sanchez after the game:
Thoughts on the game
Yeah, I'm just really proud of the group. I thought these were two really good teams that are fighting for a chance to be in the playoffs in the Mountain West, and it was just a really good overall performance for us. I thought we handled the momentum shifts really well and figured out how to score two great goals and keep the ball out of the back of our net, which is important against their forwards.
Thoughts on the Tiger's attack
We thought we had some really good possession against Nevada and didn't get much from it in terms of either a shot on goal or a corner kick. So today that was a big emphasis. And again, we had a lot of corners in that first half, but they weren't necessarily generating shots. So, that was what we were trying to do in the second half was just getting some more shots on goal. I thought their keeper came up big a few times, as ours did too. It was just a really good competitive game.
Thoughts on the Tiger's perseverance
We just love the resilience this group has. They really do believe that they can come back from anything, and now, they know they can score when they have to. It's really good momentum for us and we're hoping we can keep it going.
On defending the top spot in the Mountain West at home tonight
That means a lot to us because again, it's really, really hard when you're on top because everybody's chasing you. We had a conversation about that, how we have to keep our heads about us, not really kind of worry about the standings until you get deeper into the season. We know how many points we think we need to get into the playoffs, and that's what we're focused on.
