th-ranked Colorado College to a 4-1 victory over the U.S. Under-18 National Team in an exhibition game Friday night at Ed Robson Arena.

Jackson Unger made 19 saves for the Tigers, who jumped into the national rankings after sweeping then-No. 10 UMass at home last weekend.

Veinbergs opened the scoring with 4:15 remaining in the first period. He took a centering pass from Björck and fired a rocket past USA goalie Eli Winters.

The action heated up in the third period with the teams combining for four goals in the final frame. Mrsic, who led all players with seven shots, doubled the lead at the 5:27 mark, taking a beautiful pass from Hvidston and hitting the open net. He then notched his second of the game with an empty-netter at the 16:44 mark, just seconds after Winters hit the bench for an extra skater.

Rocco Pelosi scored for USA with 2:32 remaining to spoil the shutout, then Veinbergs notched an empty-netter of his own with 53 seconds left in the contest for the final margin.

Winters finished the contest with 40 saves and each team was 0-for-2 on the power play. Veinbergs and Hvidston each had five shots on goal.

The Tigers return to action next weekend against No. 16/14 UConn in Storrs, Ct., beginning on Friday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. (ET).
