Anthony Weber Named SCAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year

Lehmitz, Kaminski and Boder Selected to SCAC First-Team

After leading the Colorado College men's tennis team to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title and first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament, Anthony Weber has been named the SCAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year.

Meanwhile, in exclusive voting by the league's head coaches and sports information directors, sophomore Lenny Lehmitz was a first-team selection in singles, while junior Dominik Kaminski and sophomore Sam Dilworth earned second-team honors. In doubles, Kaminski and junior Justin Boder were named to the first-team and Lehmitz and Dilworth to the second-team.

Weber led the Tigers to their first SCAC tournament title and earned its first berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament in program history with a 4-0 victory over Concordia University (Texas) in the SCAC Championship Match last month. In addition to 4-0 sweeps over both University of the Ozarks and Concordia (Texas) at the conference tournament, CC (14-7) was a perfect 10-0 during conference play this season, losing just six total games and going a combined 64-6 in those matches.

The award is the second for Weber, who was also recognized (along with Trinity's Russell McMindes) as Coach of the Year following the 2016 season. Weber, who was also named the SCAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year, is the first conference coach to win both awards in the same season since Trinity's Butch Newman in 2004.

Lehmitz posted a 16-10 overall singles record, including a13-7 dual mark, with 10 of those wins coming at the No. 2 position. He was 11-0 against SCAC opponents, helping the Tigers to the SCAC title.

Kaminski won nine overall matches, including eight at the No. 1 spot, while Dilworth collected an 11-9 overall record and was a perfect 8-0 vs. SCAC opponents.

Kaminski and Boder combined for an 11-7 overall doubles record and was 8-1 vs. league opponents. Lehmitz and Dilworth were 12-7, including a 9-5 mark at the No. 2 position.
