Six Tigers Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Barnes advances to Academic All-American ballot

Six student-athletes from the Colorado College men's cross country and track & field teams were selected to the 2026 Academic All-District Team, named by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Recent graduates Rabbit Barnes, Axel Klomparens, Luc Santos and Josh Williams, along with rising senior Owen Shi and rising junior Oliver Smeal were named members of the team.

Barnes earned a spot on the team for the third consecutive year, while Klomparens, Shi and Williams were selected for the second time. Santos and Smeal are first-time selections.

Barnes, a first-team Academic All-American last year, was selected to advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with honorees set to be announced on July 14.

The 2026 Academic All-District Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must rank in the Top 50 in the region in a single event (XC, indoor or outdoor) and maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.00 scale).
