Men's Soccer Heads West for Two Matches in the Golden State

The Colorado College Tigers hit the road for the first time of the 2026 season with a pair of games in California this weekend. The Tigers will face their second back-to-back in as many weeks on Friday and Saturday night taking on Cal Lutheran then Redlands both at 7 PM Pacific.

The Tigers got off to a hot start to the fall season at home last weekend, taking on Whitworth University and Wheaton College at Stewart Field last Friday and Saturday. CC took 65 minutes to get started vs Whitworth, but tagged the Pirates for three goals late to win their first match of the year 3-0 on home turf. 24 hours later, the Tigers found themselves in a slug fest with the Wheaton College Thunder. The Tigers would ultimately prove to get the better of the Thunder, thanks to an 89th minute stunner from senior Jack Hilliard that earned him a highlight as one of the SCAC plays of the week.

The Tigers returned Teddy Opler who was tied for the team lead in goals a season ago with 14, which, when paired with his six assists on the campaign, gave him a team best 34 points in 19 matches played. Opler picked up right where he left off, as he scored three goals and three assists on the weekend, enough to be named the SCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
