Late Push Not Enough in Women's Soccer's 3-2 Loss to Kansas State

Colorado College lost to Kansas St. 3-2 on Sunday. Colorado College scored both of its goals in the second half and recorded 10 of its 13 shots after halftime.
 
First Half
- Kansas St. generated the first stretch of pressure, taking three shots and a corner in the opening two minutes before Regan Wallace made saves at 8:59 and 10:59 to keep the match scoreless.
- Colorado College put its first shot on goal at 15:30, when Finley Schoenbeck's attempt was saved, but Kansas St. moved ahead 1-0 at 21:10 on a Rilyn Rintoul goal assisted by Anna Pagano and Sydney Coffman.
- Ella Ashouri had a shot go wide at 22:48, and Chloe Bunton later put an attempt on frame at 34:09 before Kansas St. added a Lauren Moylan goal at 35:34 for a 2-0 lead.
- Kansas St. remained in front through the end of the half, with Colorado College held to three shots in the segment.
 
Second Half
- Regan Wallace saved Rilyn Rintoul's shot at 47:22, and Colorado College cut the deficit to 2-1 at 54:14 when Bella Stewart scored from Charlotte Strabel's assist.
- Wallace stopped three Kansas St. shots from 54:39 to 56:34 before Colorado College generated shots by Ella Ashouri and Chloe Bunton and two corner kicks. Gabby DeMers scored for Kansas St. from Langley Mayers at 70:10 to make it 3-1.
- Colorado College answered with two Kendall Memoly shots and a 72:31 corner, then Chloe Bunton hit the right woodwork at 75:05. Kansas St. later put a shot off the left woodwork and forced two more Wallace saves before an 86:09 corner.
- Stewart converted a penalty kick at 87:44 to bring Colorado College within 3-2, but Kansas St. finished with the 3-2 win.
 
Bella Stewart scored both Colorado College goals, finished with four points, and set a season high with two goals, putting both of her shots on goal. Regan Wallace made nine saves in 90 minutes, including six in the second half. Colorado College achieved a season-high of nine saves in the game. Ella Ashouri posted a team-high four shots, with two on goal. Charlotte Strabel added an assist. Colorado College registered seven shots on goal, which is higher than its season average of 4.14.
 
Colorado College is 2-4-2 overall. Kansas St. is 5-0-3 overall.
