HIGHLIGHTS AS A TIGER
2009-10: A two-time member of the WCHA All-Academic Team, O’Brien appeared in four games as a junior, starting twice and backstopping his first career victory in a 4-1 triumph over Robert Morris University on Nov. 21...made 19 saves in that outing and later stopped 12 of 13 shots in a relief performance at the University of Minnesota Duluth.  
2008-09: Took over as the team’s No. 1 backup after senior Drew O’Connell suffered a season-ending injury midway through the campaign...earlier preserved a team shutout with six saves in the third period of a 7-0 victory over Sacred Heart University, then stopped all five shots he faced in the final 15:33 of a 6-1 loss to St. Cloud State...started and went the distance in a 3-2 exhibition defeat to the U.S. Under-18 Team in mid-February, steering away 23 of 26 shots (.885).
2007-08: Made his collegiate debut in a relief role against Clarkson University in early February of his freshman season, stopping all four shots he faced in the final 5:35 of a 5-2 victory at the World Arena...performed solidly in practice as CC’s third goaltender throughout his rookie year, maintaining an excellent work ethic as he gained confidence and experience.

HIGH SCHOOL/JUNIORS: O’Brien was the starting goaltender at St. Paul Prep School in Concord, New Hampshire, for two seasons before enrolling at Colorado College...posted an 11-9-2 record as a senior in 2006-07, when he finished with a 2.80 goals-against average, .913 saves percentage and two shutouts for the fifth-place Pelicans (also known as the Big Red)...was 17-7-3 with a 2.35 GAA, .927 saves ratio and four shutouts his junior year...earlier earned first-team all-state honors as a sophomore at Stowe High School in 2004-05...a veteran of Vermont’s select-15, -16 and -17 teams.
