Biography
2012: Senior won SCAC league title in 3,000 steeplechase in 9:22.89… personal best set earlier in the season was 9:15.4
2011: Posted personal records of 4:06.64 in the 1,500 meters, 9:31.8 in the 3,000 and 9:37.8 in the 3K steeplechase as a junior.
2010: One of three Tigers among the top seven in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championships, Gerken finished fourth overall with a season-best clocking of 9:54.00 as a sophomore.
2009: As part of CC's amazing freshman steeplechase trio, Gerken ran a PR of 9:52.7 to finish second at the SCAC championships and earn all-conference honors...also competed three times in the 5K, dropping his time 52 seconds, from 16:39 to a season-best 15:47.
Before Colorado College: Gerken lettered three times in both cross country and track at Douglas County High School, where he was co-valedictorian...earned all-league accolades and was an individual state qualifier in cross country his last two years as a prep.
