2010: Posted a season 8K bests set of 27:45 when he came in 79th at the Mt. Marty Invite...dropped his time from 29:58 at the CC Invite to 27:43 at the Mt. Marty Invite (a difference of 2 minutes and 15 seconds).
2009: Alvarado posted a personal-best 8K clocking of 27:32 at the Fort Hays State Invitational midway through his freshman season.
Before Colorado College: Alvarado served as captain of the track and field team at Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio, Texas, where he earned district all-academic honors and posted personal records of 2:00 in the 800 meters, 4:31 in the 1,600 and 16:13 in the 5K...also ran cross country all four years as a prep.
