Biography
2015: Competed in six races … earned her second consecutive all-SCAC honor with a 10th place finish at the conference meet … covered the 6K course in 24:15 … posted her second-best 6K time of 23:45 two weeks later at the Division III West Regional (finished 48th) … ran a personal-best 19:14 (5K) at the Willamette Invitational.
2014: Competed in six races as a sophomore … posted an impressive sixth-place finish at the SCAC Championships, earning her a place on the all-conference team with a time of 24:25 … ran a career-best 6K time of 23:31 at the NCAA Regionals, where she finished 37th overall and third on the team.
2013: Named co-recipient of CC's annual Jennifer Nesbitt-Most Inspirational Award as a freshman ... showed excellent improvement over the course of the season, posting season-bests of 20:37 in the 5K and 27:08 in the 6K, while refusing to give in to injury issues toward the end of her rookie campaign.
Before Colorado College: Messick played striker and center midfield on the soccer team at Berthoud High School in addition to running cross country and track there ... a first-team academic all-state selection her last three years ... ran personal best of 17:17 in the 4K and 20 minutes flat in the 5K.
