HIGHLIGHTS AS A TIGER
2007-08: Just the second player in history ever to be voted WCHA Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year in the same season, Bachman joined senior defenseman Jack Hillen on the RBK/AHCA West All-America First Team and was named national Rookie of the Year by the Hockey Commissioners’ Association as a freshman...shattered school records for single-season goals-against average and saves percentage, both overall and in league play, while posting four shutouts and allowing two or fewer goals in 25 of 35 starts...also earned First-Team All-WCHA accolades and a spot on the league’s All-Rookie Team, and was named Rookie of the Year by InsideCollegeHockey.com, as well as to the College Hockey News’ All-CHN Rookie Team...was honored as HCA Rookie of the Month twice, in October and February, as well as WCHA Rookie of the Week three times and Defensive Player of the Week twice during the course of the season...finished with a 19-5-1 (.750) record in league play, with a 1.75 GAA and .937 saves percentage... collected three assists, including two on game-winning goals...recipient of the annual Thayer Tutt Award as team MVP and the Bob Johnson Award as Freshman of the Year.
HIGH SCHOOL/JUNIORS: After starting the 2006-07 with the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League, Bachman was traded to Cedar Rapids, where he compiled a 14-10 record, 2.99 goals against average and .913 saves percentage in 26 regular-season appearances for the Roughriders...went on to win four of five decisions in the Clark Cup playoffs, posting a pair of shutouts, a 1.28 GAA and .951 saves percentage in six post-season appearances overall...selected by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round of the 2006 NHL draft as the 120th overall choice...previously was a No. 1 overall pick in the USHL draft.
