HIGHLIGHTS AS A TIGER
2007-08: Rau earned second-team All-America honors after leading the the nation with six shorthanded goals, including one in all four of CC’s meetings against Wisconsin...a first-team All-WCHA selection whose 28 tallies overall ranked first among league players...one of 11 Tigers named to the All-WCHA Academic Team...winner of the annual M.B. Hopper Award as the team’s top points producer, with 42, while becoming the 71st member of Colorado College’s elite “Century Club”...was credited with five game-winning goals, and assisted on two more...scored twice or more in a game on nine occasions...posted a career-best point-scoring streak of 16 consecutive games between early November and mid January...also won better than 55 percent of his faceoffs.
2006-07: Factored in on eight game-winning goals as a sophomore, scoring one in a 3-2 victory at Denver and assisting on seven others...led the Tigers with 18 points (6g,12a) and 50 shots on the power play, and finished second on the team with 14 tallies and 31 points overall...recorded three points in a game on three occasions and had two or more in six outings...also was CC’s top faceoff man, winning 57.6 percent (489 of 849) of his draws.
2005-06: Earned the annual Bob Johnson Award as Colorado College’s Rookie of the Year after leading all CC freshmen with 30 points...factored in on four game-winning goals, scoring one in the third period of 3-2 victory over North Dakota and assisting on three others...recorded a point in nine consecutive games during one stretch the second half of the season...named WCHA Rookie of the Week after collecting four points (1g,3a) during a sweep at Minnesota State in late October...scored the game-tying goal in the final minute of a dramatic 3-3 tie at Denver on March 3...one of 43 players to participate in USA Hockey’s National Junior Evaluation Camp three summers ago.
HIGH SCHOOL/JUNIORS: Rau was named Rookie of the Year in the United States Hockey League in 2004-05 after finishing second among all USHL players with 71 points (31g,40a) in 57 games overall with the Des Moines Buccaneers...a first-team All-USHL selection and team MVP...also spent part of the season with the U.S. National Under-18 Team, helping the Americans win a title at the Five Nations Cup in Sweden and a gold medal at the IIHF World Championships in the Czech Republic.
