Andy Kohel, a former player and coach at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, is in his third season as an assistant coach with the Colorado College men’s soccer program.

Kohel’s primary responsibilities include planning training sessions, coaching defenders, video analysis, scouting, player identification and recruiting, and coordinating on-campus visits.

Prior to his arrival in Colorado Springs, Kohel spent four seasons at his alma mater as an assistant coach, during which the Titans posted a 48-18-11 record, won the 2014 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) championship and earned a berth in the 2013 Division III Championship.

At the same time, he was a member of the coaching staff at the FC Green Bay Soccer Cub, where he was responsible for training, recruiting, tryouts, tournament organization, as well as the club’s annual fundraising event.

Kohel joined the Wisconsin Olympic Development Program staff in 2013. He participated in training, selection and development of ODP teams, and currently serves as head coach of the Wisconsin state 2000 boys squad.

During his collegiate career at UW-Oshkosh, Kohel was a four-year starter as a defender between 2006 and 2010, helping his team post an impressive 52-16-11 combined record. In his senior season, The Titans advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA tournament and finished with a 20-1-3 ledger.

Kohel, who owns a USSF 'B' coaching license, graduated in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in history.
