Dan Highstead

One of the top club coaches in the Rocky Mountain region, Dan Highstead made his debut at Colorado College in 2008 and enters his ninth season with the Tigers this fall.

Highstead is the former head coach of the Colorado Springs United, an amateur team comprised of former and current college players who compete in the Women’s Premiere Soccer League (WPSL). 

Highstead, who earned a United States Soccer Federation ‘A’ license in 2007, was with the Pikes Peak Rush Soccer Club as Director of Coaching Seniors. His duties included running the club’s college advisory program, coaching education and selecting players to be nominated for the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy.

A native of London, England, Highstead spent seven years with the Rio Vista FC Soccer Club in Albuquerque, NM, as director of coaching for its girls programs. Prior to that, he was the co-owner and director of Global Soccer LLC in Colorado Springs, running soccer camps throughout Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming. 

He began his coaching career on the staff at the Essex Soccer Academy in Essex, England. His duties included coaching at youth soccer camps in the western United States. 

Highstead is a 1996 graduate of South East Essex College of Arts and Technology in Southend, England, and is working on his master’s degree in sports management at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. 

Highstead earned his NSCAA goalkeeping license in 2013.
