Patrick McGinnis returns to the Colorado College men’s soccer team for the first time since 2004 when he became one of the most decorated players in the 55-year history of the program. 

McGinnis set the school record with 39 goals while leading the Tigers to their 18th and most recent appearance in the NCAA playoffs. He was named the Division III Player of the Year by National Soccer Coaches Association of America, as well as an All-American and Academic All-American. 

Despite playing his first collegiate season at Dartmouth College in 2001, McGinnis finished his career at Colorado College tied for third with 63 career goals. 

He graduated in 2005 with a 3.6 grade point average while earning a degree in philosophy with a double minor in physics and Spanish. For his performance both on the field and in the classroom as a senior, McGinnis was named the 2004 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Division III Academic All-American of the Year for men’s soccer. 

McGinnis spent the 2005 season with the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer (MLS). 

His first coaching assignments were at summer camps at Colorado College, the United States Air Force Academy and with the El Paso Pride Soccer Club. 

A native of Colorado Springs, McGinnis graduated from Air Academy High School in 2001.
