Kari Leach

Kari Leach, a member of the United States National Women’s "B" Water Polo Team in 1987 and  the California State University-Long Beach club team for four years (1990-1993), is in her sixth season as head coach of CC and the state’s first collegiate women’s varsity water polo team.

She also serves as an assistant on the swimming and diving staff.

Leach brought an abundance of aquatics experience to the Tigers, having worked for U.S. Water Polo and coached swimming as an age-group coach for the Colorado Springs Swim Team the last decade.  Prior to moving to Colorado, Leach lived in Southern California where she spent four years coaching for the SOCAL age-group water polo program.  SOCAL has produced many elite collegiate athletes, a handful of whom have gone on to the national and Olympic levels.

A former sprinter on the water polo team at Arizona State Universiy. Leach made Junior National cuts at age 17.  She graduated from CSU-Long Beach in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure studies. She and her husband, Jason, also a former CSULB water polo player, have three children – Rachel, Kyle and Ryan.
