2011-12: Named a Scholar All-American by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for recording a minimum 3.5 grade-point average and competing at the NCAA Division III Championships … Earned honorable mention All-America recognition as part of the CC foursome that placed 12th in the 800 free relay in a school-record time of 6:45.85 ... In the preliminaries of the 400 freestyle relay, the Tigers finished 17th in a time of 3:06.48, missing out on a spot in the consolation finals by just 1.45 seconds … Recorded three individual podium finishes at the 2012 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships … Finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 50.71, as well as third in the 200 fly in 1:56.87 … Claimed fourth in the 50 free with an effort of 21.24 … Swam leadoff for the 400 and 800 free relay teams that won conference championships in times of 3:04.02 and 6:47.01, respectively … Also helped the Tigers finish second in the 200 free relay (1:23.26) and third in the 400 medley relay (3:29.58) … Earned his second appearance on the SCAC’s Honor Roll for excellence in the classroom.

2010-11: Placed third in the 200 (1:56.18) and fifth in the 100 (52.63) butterfly at the SCAC Championships for career bests … Swam a career best with a time of 21.80 in the 50 freestyle to finish 10th during the conference championships … Swam on the 400 free relay (3:08.46) and the 800 free relay (6:55.97) teams that both finished in second place to break the school records ... Earned a spot on the SCAC's Honor Roll.

Before Colorado College: Earned four varsity letters in swimming at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa … Team captain during his junior and senior seasons … Qualified for the state championship three times … Finished eighth in the 100-yard butterfly and 14th in the 200 freestyle as a senior … Was the team MVP as a senior … Also received the program’s Dennis Johnson Leadership Award and was the Most Valuable Freshman in 2007.
