Naren Clark, a 2006 Colorado College graduate and former No. 1 singles and doubles player for the Tigers, was named head coach of the men’s tennis team on Aug. 20.
A native of Vero Beach, Fla., Clark was a four-year letterwinner and two-time captain of the Tigers from 2003-2006. He was 30-19 during three seasons at No. 1 singles and 33-15 at No. 1 doubles, where he teamed with CC women’s coach Perry Wright. As a team, the Tigers were 29-21 during that period.
Clark earned his degree in mathematical economics and currently works as a professional futures trader for Advantage Futures in Chicago. During the summer of 2005, he served as a wealth management intern with First Republic Bank in San Francisco.
He was recently named boy’s tennis coach at Palmer High School in Colorado Springs. Clark was a coach and counselor at the 2008 Nike Tennis Camp at Fountain Valley School. In 2004, he was an assistant tennis coach at the Berkeley Tennis Club in Berkeley, Calif.
Clark succeeds Wayne Emerick, who resigned in July to become the director of an international tennis academy in Beijing, China.
