The lead assistant coach returns for his 12th season in 2012. He will be coaching the high jump, long jump, triple jump, hurdles and sprint athletes.
Over his CC coaching career, he has coached school records in the men’s 400 meter hurdles (53.61), men’s 400 meters (49.25), men’s 200 meters (22.18), men’s 1,600 relay (3:23.6), men’s 800 relay (1:32.29), women’s 400 meters (57.59), women’s sprint medley relay (4:24.63) and also coached indoor records in the 55 hurdles (8.77), 60 hurdles (10.36), 60 meters (8.56), 50 meters (6.59) and 1,200 meter relay.
As an athlete, his team won junior college nationals after he placed third in the 120-yard high hurdles. He also ran hurdles in the masters division out of college and coached two years at Grants High School in Grants, N.M.. He ran a 14.1 for the 120 high hurdles and 53.5 in the 440 intermediate hurdles.
Mike works as a computer sciences instructor at Pikes Peak Community College.
