Tarek Farouk

Tarek Farouk was named an assistant coach for the men's and women's swimming teams at Colorado College on Oct. 13, 2025..
 
Farouk comes to CC from Division II Catawba College, where he served as an assistant coach for the swimming teams during the  2024-25 season.
 
During his tenure at Catawba, he was the lead coach for the mid-distance racers, including all strokes from 200 to 500. He helped the teams break 30 school records and the men's 800 freestyle relay team qualify for the NCAA Division II Championships for the first time in program history

In addition, both teams finished in the top 20 at the DII Championships and were named the most improved teams in the country by SwimCloud. 
 
Prior to Catawba, Farouk worked for three years at the University of Montana, including as a teaching assistant for the integrative physiology and athletic training departments, a strength and conditioning intern and a coach for the Missoula Aquatic Club.
 
Farouk is a USA Swimming and NCAA certified coach and a certified pool operator.
 
He swam for four years as an undergraduate at Colorado Mesa, then served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Maverick swimming programs for the 2020-21 season. He received a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Colorado Mesa in 2021 and a master's degree in integrative physiology from the University of Montana in 2024.
