Alexander Coffey was promoted to Head Ice Technician & Building Operations Coordinator in the fall of 2023. He had previously served as an ice technician since joining the Ed Robson Arena staff in the fall of 2021.

Coffey is responsible for creating and maintaining a professional level of ice not just for the CC Tiger varsity hockey team, but for user groups of all ages. For NCAA games, he is responsible for ensuring that the playing surface and area complies with NCAA and NCHC requirements. Coffey also oversees the scheduling and training of the ice tech staff and game day volunteers. He leads ice/building conversions, Zamboni operations, and overall building upkeep and expenses. Coffey also works closely with the CC HVAC team to ensure proper rink conditions throughout the Arena.

Coffey grew up in Steamboat Springs, Colo., where he spent most of his time playing soccer, hockey, and alpine ski racing. He graduated in 2017 from Steamboat Springs High School and continued his education while playing soccer at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.
