Cory Solem

Cory Solem joined the Colorado College track & field coaching staff in October of 2025 as an assistant coach specializing in throws.
 
Solem, who has been a mail carrier since 2013 and lived in Colorado Springs since 2020, has a history as a successful thrower and coach.
 
He coached on and off from 2006-2020 at the Grand Forks (ND) Throws program, where he trained from 1994-2001.
 
As a student-athlete at Red River High School in Grand Forks, he was a four-time state qualifier in the discus and placed in the top six three times. He also qualified for the state meet twice in the shot put.
 
He also posted a pair of sixth-place finished at the AAU national track meet, once in discus and once in javelin.
 
Solem received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota in 2008.
