Jerry Cross

Jerry Cross was named director of athletics communications at Colorado College in August of 2014.
 
In his current role at CC, Cross is a member of the athletic department's senior staff and handles the communications duties for the Division I hockey program, as well as the Division III cross country, volleyball, swimming & diving, tennis and track and field programs.

Cross, who was a three-year letterwinner on the tennis team and earned a degree in economics from Colorado College in 1991, returned to the school after working in the athletic communications office at the Air Force Academy since 2000. He coordinated public and media information needs for men's basketball, men's soccer, men's golf, and men's and women's tennis, and also directed Air Force Academy communications for two NCAA Division I Basketball Tournaments and one NIT semifinal appearance. He also spearheaded media services for various Mountain West Conference championship events.

During his tenure at USAFA, Cross also was involved at the national level, serving as coordinator of the statistical crew for the opening rounds of the 2008 and 2011 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournaments and the 2012 Women's Final Four. He is a member the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and former member of the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA).
 
Prior to his stint at the Air Force Academy, Cross was the assistant director of sports information at Colorado College from 1991-1996, and the sports information director at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs from 1996-2000. He also served as the tennis coach at both CC and UCCS.
 
Cross, a long-time resident of Colorado Springs, and his wife, Annie, are the proud parents of a daughter, Elaine.
