Rob Raphael is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Colorado College women’s lacrosse team.
 
A product of a military family, Raphael started playing lacrosse in Harve de Grace, Md., his family then moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1983.
 
Raphael played attack, defense and goalie at Rampart High School, and went to play Division I MCLA at Texas Tech University as an attackman and midfielder. He helped the Red Raiders claim Southwest Conference championships in 1985, '86 and ’88.
 
Raphael earned his master’s degree in business and project management from Boston University. At the same time, he played club in Boston’s Bagattaway Men’s League in 1995 and ‘96.
 
Raphael has been coaching girl’s and boy’s lacrosse at the youth and high school levels for more than eight years and brings a wealth of knowledge to both games.
 
He holds US Lacrosse coaching certifications for the men’s and women’s game, including goalie certifications for both.
 
Raphael also is the founder of 719Lacrosse, a non-profit that makes the sport of lacrosse accessible to kids and adults with special needs and disabilities.
 
When he isn’t coaching, Raphael spends time with his wife, Julie, son, Blake, and daughter, Hailey, both of whom are lacrosse goalies. He also enjoys ice hockey and skates as often as he can.
