Playing both on the road and at home for the only time in 2008, Colorado College looks to solidify its position among Conference USA's top teams with another pair of key matches this weekend.
The Tigers travel to Houston, Texas, for a 7 p.m. (CT) date with Rice University on Friday, then turn around and return home to take on the University of Houston at noon (MT) Sunday. They conclude the regular season with a game at UTEP on Friday, Oct. 31.
CC is 11-4-2 overall and 5-2-1 in C-USA after tying and winning on the road last weekend. Currently third in the league standings, coach
Geoff Bennett and his squad trail first-place East Carolina University by only three points but lead fourth-place Rice by just one.
This weekend's games mark just the third-ever meetings between Colorado College and both opponents. The Tigers are 1-1 against the Owls, having claimed a 1-0 victory at Stewart Field in 2006 before dropping a 2-1 decision in Houston last Nov. 2. Colorado College has won both previous matches with UH, prevailing by a 2-1 score at home two years ago as well as 3-1 on the road in 2007.
