Colorado College jumped to the top of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference standings by winning all four of its matches at the crossover matches at Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
The Tigers defeated Millsaps College (23-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-20) and Rhodes College (25-22, 25-16, 25-21) on Friday, then came back to beat Hendrix College (25-20, 25-14, 25-10) and No. 24 Austin College (25-20, 25-22, 25-23) on Saturday.
CC is one win ahead of Trinity University in the SCAC standings. With the victories, Colorado College extended its winning streak to seven matches.
Senior outside hitter
Anna Clithero had 10 kills and eight digs to lead CC against Hendrix.
Freshman opposite hitter
Meredith Ballard had 15 kills and hit .700 as the Tigers swept Austin on its home court. Clithero had a double-double with 11 kills and 20 digs, while sophomore outside hitter
Emily Perkins had 10 kills and 17 digs.
The Tigers are currently using five freshman in their nine-player rotation.
Colorado College will travel to Atlanta, Ga., next weekend and will face DePauw University, Centre College, Sewanee and Southwestern University in SCAC crossover matches against the East Division.
