Any thoughts of a Tiger comeback were dashed when the Stormy Petrels outscored CC 19-7 to start the second half to build a commanding 27-point lead with 13:40 to play.
CC slipped to 12-6 overall and 5-4 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Despite the loss, the Tigers still hold a one-game lead over Millsaps College in the battle for second place in the SCAC's West Division. Oglethorpe improved to 17-2 overall and remains tied with DePauw University for the East Division lead with an 8-1 conference mark.
Colorado College wraps up its two-game road trip on Sunday when the Tigers travel to Sewanee: The University of the South.
