Colorado College defeated Rhodes College and Hendrix College on Friday afternoon in its first two contests at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference crossover matches in San Antonio, Texas.
The 11th-ranked Tigers improved to 11-1 overall and extended their current winning streak to six matches. Colorado College has posted sweeps in 10 of its 11 victories, winning 33 of 34 sets.
Junior middle blocker Emily Perkins had nine kills to pace CC in a 25-19, 25-23, 25-19 victory over Rhodes College in its first match. Sophomore outside hitter Sarah Schmoker had 12 digs to lead the defense. Sophomore middle blocker Haley Hamilton blocked three blocks.
Perkins had a match-high 12 kills and three aces as the Tigers completed their day with a 25-21, 28-26, 25-21 triumph over Hendrix College. Sophomore libero Hannah Varnell had a team-high 11 digs.
Colorado College will square off with No. 14 Trinity University on Saturday at noon, and then finish the weekend with a non-conference match against Birmingham-Southern College at 2 p.m.
