Led by junior forward
Tiffany Brown, Conference USA's top point producer after 10 matches overall, first-place Colorado College heads southeast later this week for the first two of four consecutive league outings on the road.
CC visits Birmingham, Ala., on Friday for a 7 p.m. (CT) game against UAB, then plays at two-time defending C-USA playoff champion University of Memphis in a noon (CT) contest on Sunday.
On Monday, the conference honored Brown as its Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after she scored two goals and assisted on the game winner in last Friday's 4-1 victory over SMU at Stewart Field. The five points gave her 15 (5g,5a) for the season.
The Tigers, who also defeated the University of Tulsa (2-0) at home on Sunday, are 6-3-1 overall and 2-0 in league play. They currently are tied with three other teams for first place.
UAB is 7-3 overall and 1-1 in Conference USA after splitting a pair of decisions on the road last week. The Blazers lost (3-1) to nationally ranked UCF (Central Florida) in their C-USA opener on Friday before winning (1-0) at the University of Southern Mississippi two days later. Memphis, also 7-3 overall, joins CC with a 2-0 record in league play after beating Southern Miss (2-0) on Friday and UCF (1-0) on Sunday.
