Returning to league action after a three-week hiatus, Colorado College finally gets a chance to move up in the WCHA standings this weekend.
The 11th-place Tigers, who haven't engaged in conference play since Nov. 6, take on the University of Alaska Anchorage in a two-game series at the World Arena.
Faceoff is 7:37 p.m. (MT) Friday and 7:07 p.m. Saturday.
CC, 5-6-1 overall and 2-4 in six league outings to date, is just four points out of sixth-place and has at least two games in hand with all 11 other WCHA teams.
Friday's series opener marks the 67th all-time contest between Colorado College and Alaska Anchorage in a rivalry that started on Jan. 5, 1984. The Tigers lead the overall series by a 49-14-3 margin after beating UAA, 4-3, in a non-conference game at the Alaska Goal Rush tournament in Fairbanks earlier this season.
The teams split four decisions during the 2009-10 campaign, when the Seawolves pulled off a 3-2 overtime victory at the World Arena after losing, 5-0, the night before. CC has won 20 of 22 encounters overall between the teams at the CSWA.
