CC players help with Garden of the Gods project

Making an effort to stay busy during the off-season and give back to the community, Colorado College team members lent a helping hand at Garden of the Gods last weekend.

Eleven CC players performed several hours of strenuous labor on Sunday, May 2, working as volunteers in the park's Community Stewardship and Restoration Program.

For three hours, from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m., the Tigers helped moved rock in addition to building steps, drainage structures and retaining walls in the Spring Canyon area near the south end of GOG.

The ongoing restoration project is sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Field Institute. The women's soccer team previously participated in 2007 and volunteered for what turned out to be a rained out session in 2009.
