Colorado College took over sole possession of first place in the SCAC with a come-from-behind victory over No. 17 Southwestern University on Sunday at Sewanee: The University of the South.
Playing the second of back-to-back matches, the Tigers rallied for the 25-23, 22-25, 12-25, 25-23, 15-9 victory against the defending champion Pirates. It marked the second match this weekend and the fourth time in five tries CC came out on top in a five-set contest.
Colorado College (15-2, 8-0 SCAC) began the day with a 25-9, 25-6, 22-25, 25-11 victory over host Sewanee.
The Tigers take a break from conference play next weekend for a match against Division II Colorado State University – Pueblo.
