Tigers fall to Whitman

Box Score Colorado College fell to Whitman College, 85-45, in its last road game in Spokane, Wash., on Saturday evening in Whitworth Fieldhouse.    
 
Through the first eight minutes of the game, the first half saw nine lead changes with the Tigers holding their final lead at the 12:53 mark when senior Marissa Gradoz hit a layup to make the score 13-11.
 
Whitman rallied back when Sarah Anderegg scored four consecutive points to trigger a 23-5 run to close out the half and enter halftime with a 46-16 lead over CC.
 
The Tigers improved their scoring in the second half scoring 29 points, while holding the Athletics to 39 points, but their efforts weren't enough as Whitman cruised to the win.
 
CC was led by sophomore Courtney Tyus with 13 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Katie Waters had a season-high 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor, while senior Sarah Gunkel added 10 points to round out the Tigers' offense.  
 
Gunkel also led the team on defense with nine rebounds.
 
Anderegg led the attack for Whitman with 14 points, while Heather Johns added 12 points. Meghan White and Heather Lovelace also scored in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
 
Colorado College (0-7) returns home to begin conference play against Austin College on Dec. 7-8.
