Box Score Sophomore midfielder
Jessie Ayers struck for a pair of goals in the second half to lift Colorado College to a 2-1 victory at Marshall University in the Conference USA opener for both teams on Friday night.
Ayers tied the game in the 64th minute when she pounced on a pass from junior forward
Lynn Froetscher and put a rocket into the top right corner.

Geoff Bennett said. “They showed some real grit and determination in the second half while playing on a field that is unlike anything we'll see the rest of the season.
“It was a real battle, but our players met the challenge we gave them at halftime.”
Colorado College outshot Marshall 7-2 in the second half to finish with a 16-11 advantage. The Tigers also took the only four corner kicks of the contest.
Freshman goalkeeper
Kate Scheele made all four of her saves in the first half to keep CC within striking distance.
